On Monday Grade 1’s at Balcombe Grammar watched “The Wizard’s Tale” and had a great laugh. Today the students created wonderful puppets in two puppet making workshop sessions. On Tuesday morning Preps at Rangeview Primary School watched “The Wizard’s Tale” before seeing behind the scenes and enjoying a discussion on theatre and all it involves. I am spending the entire week at Croydon Hills Primary School. Last week on Tuesday the grade 3/4’s were lucky to start the term with a couple of show sessions of “The Wizard’s Tale”. The rest of the week, and today, I have run eight workshop sessions, one for each grade. All the workshops ran very smoothly with some sensational results, including a few shown here. Students were fantastic to work with, a credit to their teachers and parents! Thanks to the parents for helping, much appreciated. The first time I worked for Elsternwick Primary School was in 1996 for the Out of School Hours Care. I have also been running shows and workshops for the Preps since 2005! Today I continued the tradition with this years Preps. They made some super puppets as you can see from the few examples below. Thanks to the parents for helping, much appreciated. On Monday the Grade 3/4’s at Brunswick North were entertained with “Circus With Punch” and the ‘behind the scenes’ secrets. They have also now all participated in one of five puppet making workshops. I started running incursions at Vermont Primary School back in 2000. Last Friday I ran two performances of “The Wizard’s Tale” and am this week running six puppet making workshops over three days. The first two ran Monday, the second two Wednesday and the last sessions today, all with sensational results. I must say the students were very much on task all day and listened and followed instructions beautifully. Congratulations. Here is a sample of some of the students puppets. Another of the schools I visit annually yesterday and today, St Anne’s Primary School in Sunbury. Grade 2’s had a blast watching “The Wizard’s Tale” and particularly enjoyed seeing all the secrets revealed after the show. I also ran three workshop sessions. I was at one of my regular schools, Hughesdale Primary School, yesterday and today. Yesterday the Preps got to enjoy “The Wizard’s Tale” and it’s ‘behind the scenes’ exploration. Grade 1/2 teachers and students at Morang South Primary School should be commended. Yesterday morning they (even the teachers 🙂 ) sat beautifully during the performance of “The Wizard’s Tale” and joined in sensibly when appropriate during the interactive show. I also ran three workshops for them and they all ran very smoothly with the kids staying on task the entire time. You can see the evidence here in just a small sample of their puppet creations. Prep – Grade 2’s at Preston North East Primary today started their week with much fun. First they had a special assembly and were then happily back to watch my show “Three Animal Stories”. Billy the dog was lucky enough to get a few kisses. The children got to explore behind the scenes and are then making wonderful puppet creations. One workshop Monday, two on Tuesday.
